Oxford’s Clarendon Scholarships offer graduate funding through the university’s normal admissions process. Applicants do not need a separate Clarendon form, but they must meet the funding deadline for their chosen course.

What applicants need to know
Consideration is automatic when an eligible graduate application is submitted by the relevant deadline. Selection is competitive and considers academic achievement, potential and motivation. Funding normally covers the fee-liability period; continuation charges are excluded.
The official page’s illustrative living-grant figure relates to 2025–26. Applicants for a later intake should use their award documentation for the applicable amount rather than assuming an older figure remains current.
Prepare the course application first
Choose a course because its academic content and research environment match your goals. Then build a checklist from that course’s application page: required written work, references, transcripts, language evidence and any research proposal. Requirements can differ between departments.
Work backwards from the funding deadline. Referees may need time to prepare a useful academic reference, and transcripts or translations can take longer than expected. A complete, well-prepared application is more useful than a rushed submission built around a scholarship headline.
Budget for costs outside the headline award
Ask how the award’s duration aligns with your planned course. Also consider your own travel, immigration expenses, dependants and initial accommodation costs. Do not assume that full course-fee coverage means every household expense is reimbursed.
Keep admission and funding decisions separate in your planning. Automatic consideration does not mean automatic selection or that receiving a course offer guarantees Clarendon support.
How to apply
Read Oxford’s official Clarendon applicant guidance, choose your graduate course and submit the course application by its relevant funding deadline.
