KPMG Canada Internships and Co-ops: Student Eligibility and Application Routes

Student-careers guide checked 1 October 2026. KPMG Canada recruits for internships, co-op placements and graduate roles through its Canadian careers system. These routes have different eligibility rules; an internship listing should not be treated as a general graduate vacancy.

Who can apply?

The student FAQ says internship and co-op applicants should be enrolled at a post-secondary institution. Graduates and final-year students are usually not eligible for internships. Candidates must have, or be able to obtain, legal authorisation to work in Canada by the employment start date. CPA-track roles require commitment to the Canadian CPA designation and progress toward prerequisite courses.

Recruitment windows

KPMG describes three student-recruitment cycles: winter from mid-November to January, spring from mid-March to May, and fall from mid-August to October. Individual listings control availability and start dates. The FAQ currently allows one application per recruitment cycle, so choose the office and service line carefully.

What co-op work involves

The co-op overview highlights second- and third-year university students and experience in Audit, Tax, Advisory and KPMG Enterprise. It describes work-based development and training alongside contributions to client service.

Choose your application deliberately

Before submitting, compare the daily work in your preferred teams. An interest in accounting does not automatically identify whether audit, tax or another function is the best fit. Note the skills you want to practise and find evidence in the job description that the role offers relevant exposure.

Confirm that the term fits your academic timetable and any co-op approval process at your institution. On your CV, make your study status, expected graduation date and relevant coursework clear. Prepare examples of accurate work, teamwork and learning from feedback.

How to find current opportunities

Start with KPMG Canada’s student careers page, review the FAQ and follow its job-postings link. The co-op overview explains that route in more detail.

Save the advertisement and role reference when you apply. Check the actual deadline and employment conditions rather than carrying over terms from KPMG’s US, UK or other member firms.
