ADB–Japan Scholarships 2027 at AIT Cover Tuition, Housing and Living Support for Eligible Master’s Students

Scholarship checked 5 October 2026. The Asian Institute of Technology lists 31 March 2027 as the ADB–Japan Scholarship Program deadline for its August 2027 intake in Thailand.

Benefits

Support includes tuition, housing and living allowances, medical and accident insurance, books, eligible travel and research costs. Dependants’ expenses and computer purchases are excluded. Awards can run for up to two years, with renewal conditional on satisfactory progress.

Eligibility

Applicants need nationality of an eligible ADB borrowing member country, a strong bachelor’s record, at least two years’ full-time post-degree professional experience and English proficiency. The normal age ceiling is 35, with limited exceptions up to 45.

Applicants living or working outside their home country, already enrolled in graduate study, or covered by staff and family exclusions are ineligible. Scholars must return home and work there for at least two years after completion.

Application and documents

Apply through AIT admissions and indicate ADB-JSP consideration. Prepare degree records, English results, employment certification, income evidence and the scholarship information sheet. Read AIT’s detailed academic, income and selection requirements on its official scholarship page.

Prepare before submitting

Check eligibility before investing time in essays. The professional-experience condition refers to work after the qualifying degree, so build a clear chronology showing degree completion and employment dates. Resolve any inconsistencies between your CV and supporting documents.

Choose a programme that connects logically with the work you want to undertake after returning home. Explain the problem you hope to address and the skills you need, using specific examples rather than broad promises of impact.

Keep a checklist of documents and request third-party certificates early. Do not alter records or estimate income figures to fit the criteria. Ask the admissions team about any ambiguous requirement before submitting. These are editorial preparation suggestions.

Deadline and summary

The application deadline is 31 March 2027. Admission and scholarship selection are competitive; an application does not guarantee an award.
