Overview
UN Volunteers uses its Unified Volunteering Platform to register candidates and manage assignment applications. A complete talent-pool profile is the starting point.
About the Platform
Registration creates a candidate profile; it does not guarantee a placement. Individual assignments have their own requirements and selection process.
Benefits
A well-prepared profile helps you present education, experience and skills consistently. It also gives you a base to adapt when a suitable assignment appears.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 to register. Review each assignment separately for its education, experience, language and other requirements.
Application Process
Use the official UNV registration guide to reach the Unified Volunteering Platform. Allow about 45 minutes to complete the profile. UNV supports English, French and Spanish and recommends English if you are fluent. Access your profile at least once a year to keep it active.
Required Documents
Complete the required education and work-history fields. Keep accurate dates and notes about responsibilities and achievements ready. When describing an achievement, state the task, your action and the result. Use numbers only when you can substantiate them, and avoid copying a job description as if it were evidence of what you achieved.
Deadline
There is no single talent-pool deadline. Submit each assignment application before its own closing date.
Summary Table
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Minimum registration age | 18 |
| Registration | Unified Volunteering Platform |
| Placement | Subject to assignment selection |
Conclusion
Before applying, compare your profile with every essential criterion. Write the short application for that assignment rather than repeating the same general motivation. Check dates, spelling and contact details before submitting.
