- Agriculture and soil science
- Geochemistry
- Engineering
- Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV)
- Sustainability
- Economics
- Business and supply chains
- Policy and governance
- Carbon markets
- Climate finance
- Related disciplines contributing to enhanced weathering research in African contexts
What Will Fellows Learn?
The 12-week fellowship is divided into four learning phases.
Weeks 1–3: Research Foundations
The first phase introduces enhanced weathering, African research contexts and research questions that connect science and society.
Weeks 4–6: Evidence and Research Practice
Participants develop skills in critical reading, research design and evidence development for credible enhanced weathering research.
Weeks 7–9: Systems and Implementation
The programme explores soils and agronomy alongside MRV, logistics, sustainability, policy, finance and responsible implementation.
Weeks 10–12: From Learning to Contribution
The final phase focuses on mentoring, collaborative work, group presentations, reflection and planning the next stage of each participant’s research.
Fellowship Experience
Participants will have access to:
- Expert-led learning sessions
- Mentoring and feedback
- Practical research exercises
- Peer collaboration
- Research community networking
- Support for developing ideas for publications
- Support for developing research proposals

However, Fellows who successfully meet the programme requirements receive a Certificate of Completion.
Application Process
The first step is to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI).
The EOI asks applicants about their:
- Academic or professional background
- Research interests
- Motivation for joining the fellowship
Applicants can also use the EOI to request an invitation to the programme’s Information Webinar and submit questions for the EWAP team.
Applicants selected after the EOI stage will then be invited to complete the full application.
