English-language requirement guide. This article explains Padua’s current published rules for international applicants. It does not announce an open scholarship call.
Does studying in English mean no language proof?
No. Padua’s current language rules require applicants with foreign qualifications to demonstrate at least B2 English, subject to course requirements. Valid certificates may be supplied after application, but the stated enrolment deadline is 31 July 2027. That is not a scholarship application deadline.
The official certificate-exemption list permits specified alternatives. These include native speakers from listed countries; qualifying previous education entirely in English at institutions in designated countries, including EU/Schengen countries; and specified English-delivered school qualifications.
An English-medium degree from any country is not a blanket exemption. Check the exact country and qualification conditions. “Without IELTS” does not mean without English proficiency or without documentation.
Keep scholarship decisions separate
Programme guide—not a confirmed new scholarship call. As checked on 1 November 2026, the University of Padua says further International Excellence scholarship information will appear in calls published in November. Its page still references the 2026/27 selection notice. Do not treat the figures below as confirmed terms for a new intake.
What support does the programme describe?
The official scholarship overview lists €8,000 gross annually plus exemption from student fees. Regional fees and the revenue stamp remain payable. Maximum support is two years for master’s programmes or three for bachelor’s/single-cycle programmes.
The described selection covers academically excellent applicants to English-taught degrees who meet nationality, foreign-qualification and non-residence-in-Italy conditions. Eligible course applicants are considered without a separate scholarship application. Awards are competitive, not automatic; renewal and repayment conditions apply. Read the new call before relying on an award count, deadline or eligibility rule.
Before you apply
Check the chosen course at Padua’s official admissions portal, confirm its deadline and required documents, then compare the scholarship call and language rules separately. Admission, exemption from a language test and scholarship selection are distinct decisions.
