Amani Pamoja Training Program 2026 Strengthens Youth Advocacy and Peacebuilding Skills

The Amani Pamoja (Peace Together) project is creating opportunities for young peacebuilders to develop advocacy, leadership, and policy dialogue skills while advancing youth participation in peace and security initiatives.

The capacity-building partnership brings together youth-led peacebuilding organisations from Europe and East Africa to strengthen young leaders’ ability to influence policies, participate in dialogue spaces, and promote the Youth, Peace and Security (YPS) agenda.

The project is supported by the European Union and runs from December 2025 to November 2027.

About the Amani Pamoja Project

Amani Pamoja establishes a learning partnership among youth peace organisations across six countries:

  • Kenya
  • Germany
  • Italy
  • Spain
  • Tanzania
  • Uganda

The initiative focuses on strengthening youth organisations by improving their advocacy and policy engagement capacities while creating opportunities for cross-continental learning and collaboration.

The project supports young people to become:

  • Peace advocates
  • Community leaders
  • Policy dialogue participants
  • Visible contributors to peacebuilding efforts

Training Course on Advocacy and Policy Dialogue

One of the key activities under the project is the Youth Exchange 2 – Advocacy and Policy Dialogue Training, scheduled to take place in:

Location: Vilanova I la Geltrú, Barcelona, Spain
Dates: 27 November – 3 December 2026

The training aims to strengthen young people’s confidence and skills to advocate for peace and engage effectively with policymakers.

What Participants Will Learn

The training focuses on developing skills in:

  • Peace advocacy
  • Policy dialogue
  • Youth participation in decision-making spaces
  • Communication and leadership
  • Building partnerships for peace initiatives
  • Promoting Youth, Peace and Security priorities

Participants will gain practical knowledge to help them influence peace-related policies and strengthen youth-led initiatives.

Project Objectives

The Amani Pamoja project aims to:

  • Create a cross-continental learning partnership between youth organisations in Europe and East Africa.
  • Exchange successful approaches in advancing the Youth, Peace and Security agenda.
  • Strengthen advocacy capacities among young leaders.
  • Promote meaningful youth participation in peace and security discussions.
  • Increase awareness of youth-led peacebuilding efforts.

Youth Participation Activities

The project will also train 150 young leaders across Europe and East Africa.

East Africa Activities

A total of 75 young leaders will receive training across:

  • Kenya
  • Tanzania
  • Uganda

Following the training, participants will engage in policy dialogue activities at local and national levels between December 2026 and August 2027.

Europe Activities

Another 75 young leaders will be trained across:

  • Germany
  • Italy
  • Spain

Participants will then participate in policy dialogue processes within their countries.
