What the Internship Involves

Under the supervision of the Head of Archives, Indexing and Distribution Division, the intern will support the management, description, digitization and preservation of archival records.

Responsibilities include reviewing archival files to identify their contents, dates, creators and subjects; digitizing historic and fragile records; preparing and improving archival inventories and finding aids; and entering and standardizing metadata.

The intern may also work with SharePoint libraries and other records management systems, conduct quality checks on digital records, identify duplicate or incorrectly classified material and support the review of records transferred to the Archives.

Expected outputs include accurately described archival files, updated inventories and finding aids, improved metadata, contributions to appraisal decisions and brief progress reports.
