Background & Job Description
Reporting to the Regional Manager, Accounting and Finance – Europe, the role focuses on the operational and analytical activities supporting WRI’s regional finance function.
The Accounting Manager will handle day-to-day accounting, reporting and budgeting activities while working with the Global Accounting team and programme coordinators across WRI.
WRI Europe currently has staff across the Netherlands, United Kingdom and Germany, and the role will contribute to strengthening its accounting systems and processes.
Tasks
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and reviewing monthly and quarterly reconciliations.
- Supporting monthly and year-end financial close.
- Preparing journal entries, accruals, prepayments and reclassifications.
- Monitoring expense tracking, coding, approvals and documentation.
- Reviewing vendor invoices and purchase orders.
- Supporting payment runs and cash-flow planning.
- Preparing cash-flow forecasts and monitoring cash positions.
- Supporting budget monitoring and variance reporting.
- Acting as an operational contact for finance-related questions.
- Improving accounting processes and controls.
- Supporting compliance with statutory requirements and WRI financial policies.
- Preparing documentation for internal and external audits.

Qualifications
Education and Certification
