What the Role Involves
The Youth Education Specialist works with the Youth Programs Supervisor to support programs for refugee and immigrant youth in New York City.
The position supports Youth Tutoring, YESOL classes, Leaders in Training, college and career readiness, World Explorers and sports programming. During the Newcomer Youth Summer Academy, the specialist also supports teaching staff, instructional coaching, classroom assessments and student data analysis.

- Developing and improving YESOL curriculum.

During the school year, the position generally operates Tuesday through Saturday, with online ESOL classes scheduled after school hours. The listed schedule is 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, with Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
