PA Consulting is recruiting Growth Strategy Analysts for its 2027 early-career programme, with opportunities advertised in the United States. The pathway combines practical client work, mentoring and professional development for people beginning a consulting career.
The role is relevant to applicants who enjoy investigating business questions, comparing evidence and presenting a clear recommendation. It is a distinct position within PA’s wider early-career offering, not a promise that every graduate will work in the same team.
What growth strategy analysts do
The advertised responsibilities include quantitative and qualitative research, analysis of customer and market information, business-case development, and participation in interviews and workshops. Analysts help translate evidence into presentations and recommendations for clients.
A useful way to understand this work is to separate the question from the proposed answer. For example, a business considering a new service needs to understand its customers, competitors, delivery costs and risks before deciding whether expansion is worthwhile. An analyst’s contribution is to make that decision better informed, not simply to produce more slides.
Eligibility and academic backgrounds
PA welcomes applicants completing bachelor’s or master’s degrees in autumn or winter 2026 or spring 2027, as well as relevant non-traditional pathways. All academic backgrounds are welcome for this role. Excel, PowerPoint and Word experience is required; research, analytics, coding and leadership experience can be useful additional evidence.
Applicants should still read the complete vacancy. A broad range of eligible backgrounds does not remove the need to demonstrate analytical thinking, communication and teamwork. Nor does it imply that every applicant qualifies for US employment or immigration sponsorship.
Location and working arrangements
PA’s official listings include Chicago and New York opportunities. The advertised hybrid approach requires at least two days per week in an office or at a client site, with assignments potentially requiring up to five client-site days. This is not a work-from-anywhere programme.
Before applying, consider which location is practical and read the corresponding advertisement. Location-specific pay information should not be transferred from one position to another. Confirm work-authorisation and any travel expectations directly through the recruitment process.
Prepare examples that show your thinking
Select a project in which you had to make sense of incomplete or conflicting information. Explain the original question, the sources you used, the assumptions you made and how you reached a conclusion. If the evidence changed your initial view, explain that too. A willingness to revise a conclusion can demonstrate sound judgement.
For a team example, make your own contribution visible without claiming the entire group’s work. You might have designed interview questions, organised research findings, checked calculations or presented the final recommendation. Explain how that contribution helped the team reach a better result.
Community projects and non-traditional experience can be relevant when described accurately. Organising an event, improving a local service or coordinating volunteers may demonstrate planning and stakeholder communication. Link the example to the role’s requirements rather than assuming the reader will make the connection.
Strengthen your communication
Practise explaining a piece of analysis in a short paragraph. Begin with the conclusion, identify the strongest evidence and acknowledge the main uncertainty. Then consider what decision the audience needs to make. This exercise encourages clarity and prevents an application from becoming a list of technical terms.
If you include AI-assisted research or coding work, be ready to explain how you checked its accuracy. Do not submit confidential information from a previous employer or claim ownership of work you cannot discuss. A small, well-understood example is more useful than a large portfolio of unexplained outputs.
How to apply and check availability
Use PA Consulting’s official role page to review the full requirements and application route. A university-hosted recruitment listing gives 30 September 2026 as its expiry date, so applicants should check the employer’s live vacancy promptly rather than assume that recruitment will remain open indefinitely. The employer’s system controls current availability.
The preparation advice above is editorial guidance, not an official assessment rubric. Tailor your application honestly and retain a copy of the exact vacancy you apply for.
