KPMG Ireland has outlined its 2027 student programmes, with opportunities to build practical experience alongside university study. Students can prepare now, but should distinguish the programme announcement from an open application window.
Status checked 1 October 2026: the official page says work-placement applications will open soon. Summer and global internship applications are currently closed and are due to reopen in autumn.

Experience and support
The programmes combine client work with coaching and structured development. KPMG describes a performance manager, buddy and development plan, alongside its Aspire and Ignite training. Its student page introduces audit, tax, consulting, deal advisory, law and STEM pathways; availability depends on the individual programme.
What students should prepare
Start with your university calendar. A placement lasting several months needs a different plan from a summer internship. Ask your placement office whether the dates and duties can satisfy any course requirements before committing to an application.
Prepare a CV that explains your own contribution to academic or extracurricular projects. For example, describe how you checked a spreadsheet, investigated a business question or communicated a finding. Avoid listing software without evidence of what you can do with it.
Compare locations carefully. Dublin, Cork, Galway and Belfast have different living costs and work-authorisation arrangements. Do not assume an application to one office gives you access to all locations, or that an international internship includes automatic visa or travel support.
How to follow the opening
Use KPMG’s official student page and talent pool to monitor announcements. When a vacancy opens, read its academic, availability and work-rights requirements, then apply through the linked recruitment portal. A talent-pool registration is not an application or an offer.
