Rolling programme guide, checked 4 October 2026. OECD internships provide experience supporting policy research, data analysis and organisational work. Applications are accepted throughout the year; selection depends on team needs.
Living support and format
Interns located in Paris receive €1,000 per full month towards living expenses. This is a contribution, not a promise that every expense is covered. Placements last one to six months, with renewal possible up to twelve months in total. In-person, hybrid or remote arrangements depend on the team.
Eligibility
Applicants must remain enrolled in an eligible full-time degree throughout the internship, be available for at least one month and have relevant quantitative, IT and communication skills. Excellent English or French is required, alongside knowledge of, or willingness to learn, the other language.
Most places go to OECD member-country nationals; specific projects also accept non-member nationals. Online-only courses that do not meet the OECD’s accreditation conditions are not sufficient.
How to apply
Apply online, stating your availability and entering your cover letter in the “Message to Hiring Manager” field. Shortlisted candidates may face an interview or written test.
Check eligibility and access the official OECD application platform.
Before submitting your application
Choose a policy area you can discuss with concrete examples. A course project, research assistantship or volunteer assignment may help you explain your interests, but be precise about your own contribution. Describe what you analysed or produced instead of listing broad claims such as “excellent research skills”.
For a data-focused application, explain one instance of checking data quality or communicating a result to a non-specialist audience. For communications work, choose an example that shows how you adapted a message to its readers. Do not include confidential material without permission.
Also compare the proposed placement dates with your university’s enrolment calendar. Work out a personal budget before accepting an offer; the stated living contribution should not be treated as a complete relocation package. These are editorial preparation suggestions, not extra OECD requirements.
