DAAD’s current call includes Jimma University’s MSc Environmental Health for the 2027 intake. Up to five In-Country and eight In-Region awards are planned, conditional on funding.
What is funded?
The call provides €300 monthly In-Country or €400 In-Region, tuition support, €460 annual study/research allowance and €400 towards thesis publication. In-Region scholars also receive travel and health-insurance support.
Funding lasts up to 24 months, with continuation dependent on academic progress. Not all institutional charges, fee increases or repeated-examination costs are covered.
Check both eligibility standards
DAAD requires sub-Saharan African nationality/permanent residence, an above-average three/four-year bachelor’s degree and a last university degree completed within six years. Previous DAAD master’s awardees cannot receive another master’s scholarship.
Jimma’s announcement specifies a relevant degree and a First Class Upper Division-equivalent CGPA, which is stricter than DAAD’s upper-second minimum. Confirm the university’s admissions assessment rather than assuming DAAD eligibility guarantees entry.
Two separate processes
Apply through the DAAD portal by 12 November 2026, midnight CET. University admission is separate and has its own timetable. Read the complete Jimma call before submitting.
