Yale’s Tobin Center is accepting applications for its 2027–28 pre-doctoral programme. It offers a period of intensive research experience for graduates considering further study in economics or a related subject.
What the opportunity provides
Fellows work full time for one or two years under faculty guidance. The development opportunities include a university course each semester and weekly seminars. The programme offers a competitive salary and standard health insurance benefits, but no salary amount is published. Yale sponsors visas for accepted international candidates unless an individual project specifies an exception.
Who can apply
The programme is aimed at bachelor’s and master’s graduates. Individual research projects have their own technical expectations, including quantitative or programming skills, so applicants should assess the project descriptions rather than rely only on the programme-wide criteria.
How to apply
Applications use a common form, which asks candidates to rank projects and supply an application PDF. Review the current instructions for the PDF’s contents and follow the linked project requirements. The work is based on Yale’s campus in New Haven, rather than being advertised as a remote fellowship.
Deadline
Recruitment is rolling until places are filled. No single final closing date is given for the 2027–28 intake; an available form does not guarantee that every project still has a vacancy.
