The UAL Venice Fellowship 2027 offers two places through the University of the Arts London’s Decolonising Arts Institute. Selected fellows receive a £3,300 grant towards travel, accommodation and living costs, plus project mentoring.
Who can apply?
According to UAL’s current announcement, applicants must be over 18, based in the UK, and be UAL postgraduate or doctoral students or alumni. They must attend the compulsory online induction and be available for a 30-day stay in Venice between May and November 2027.
What fellows will do
The official open call combines exhibition-ambassador work at the British Pavilion with an individual research or creative project. The ambassador commitment is 28 hours per week during the residency, alongside the opportunity to develop a project connected with Venice, the Biennale or the exhibition.
UAL provides up to eight hours of mentoring around the project. Additional funding may support access requirements. Fellows manage their own travel and accommodation arrangements.
How to apply
Read the full guidance and download the official application form. Send the completed form and your CV to decolonisingartsinstitute@arts.ac.uk, following UAL’s instructions.
Deadline: 18 November 2026 at 11:59 p.m. GMT.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a fully funded residency?
The published benefit is a £3,300 contribution, not a promise that all costs will be covered. Prepare a realistic travel and living budget.
What should applicants consider before applying?
Check the induction and residency commitments against other work or study. Your proposed project should be manageable within the available time, including the ambassador responsibilities.
Opportunities Feed is an independent publisher and is not the awarding organisation. Apply through the official route and check the provider’s current terms before submitting.
