The Anzisha Fellowship 2027 application window closes on 10 November 2026. It is designed for young African founders who already operate a business or social project, making evidence of actual activity central to deciding whether to apply.
Who can apply
The official criteria cover entrepreneurs aged 15–22 who are citizens of an African country, have a valid ID or passport, and are founding members of their ventures. Businesses must operate in Africa and serve African customers or beneficiaries. Formal registration is not required, but an idea alone is insufficient.
What the programme offers
Selected founders join a multi-year venture-development programme intended to strengthen their businesses and job-creation capacity. Applications are free. The official schedule places evaluation between November 2026 and March 2027 and the announcement of fellows in May 2027. Apply through the link on Anzisha’s official application page.
Prepare evidence for Anzisha Fellowship 2027
Independent Opportunities Feed guidance: The following practical suggestions are not additional Anzisha eligibility requirements.
A practical first step is to make a simple evidence inventory. What have you sold or delivered? Who used it? How often? What records already exist? Depending on your venture, useful material might include dated sales records, delivery logs, customer feedback or photographs of work you are authorised to share.
Explain your own role clearly. If several people founded the venture, distinguish the decisions and tasks you handled from the work completed by others. A small but specific achievement is more credible than a statement claiming that one person did everything.
Use numbers consistently. Revenue, profit, customers and beneficiaries describe different things. If you report a monthly figure, identify the month and currency. If your venture has not earned revenue, explain the activity that demonstrates demand or public benefit without relabelling participation as sales.
Show a business decision using your records
Consider a hypothetical founder selling reusable bags. Selling 40 bags at 50 units of local currency produces revenue of 2,000. If fabric, transport and other costs total 1,500, the remaining 500 is not the same as revenue, and unpaid founder time still matters. This example is illustrative, not a financial benchmark set by Anzisha.
Explain what your own records changed. Perhaps customers returned only after a delivery delay was fixed, or material costs made a popular product unprofitable. Describe the decision, the evidence behind it and what happened afterward. A small documented change can show how you learn from operations.
Use a consistent period when comparing results. Comparing one busy holiday week with an ordinary month can exaggerate growth. Note any unusual circumstances, and say when a number is an estimate. Do not invent historical figures if records are incomplete; explain what you can substantiate and how you plan to improve recordkeeping.
Next, identify a business problem you want help solving. You might need a more reliable delivery process, better records, a clearer pricing model or a way to reach repeat customers. Describe the problem in everyday language and explain what you have already tried. This gives your application a practical direction beyond simply wanting funding.
Protect customer information and check your submission
Review uploaded images and documents for privacy. Remove unnecessary customer contact details, account information and other people’s identification numbers. Ask permission before using identifiable customer photographs. Evidence should demonstrate the business without exposing the people who support it.
Finally, read the current application guide before pressing submit. Check the age rules, requested files and every declaration rather than relying on a social-media summary. Keep a copy of your answers and confirmation. These preparation suggestions do not guarantee selection, but they can help an already active founder present their work more accurately.
Read the official programme details and application instructions. Check the current instructions before submitting, including any conditions specific to your circumstances.
