The Institute for Law & AI is accepting applications for its US Summer Fellowship. The programme is designed for applicants who can bring legal knowledge to research on the governance of advanced AI.

Benefits and support
Fellows relocating to Washington, DC receive a $10,000 relocation and housing stipend. Eligible travel expenses for programme events are covered. Mentorship and professional development are included.
Who can apply?
Applicants should demonstrate understanding of US law through formal legal study or comparable professional experience. Prior AI-specific expertise is not required. Full-time participation and attendance at the Washington convening on 21–25 June are expected. In-person participation is preferred; remote exceptions may be considered.

Preparing a focused application
Use a writing sample or project example that shows how you analyse a difficult question, distinguish evidence from assumptions and reach a defensible conclusion. Explain the part you completed yourself. In your motivation statement, connect a specific research interest with the programme’s work instead of listing every AI topic that interests you. Plan for the practical commitment as well: academic deadlines, housing and travel should be considered before accepting an offer.
