What you can learn
The introductory course covers transactions, double-entry bookkeeping, payroll, ledgers, reconciliation and trial balances. The intermediate course develops financial-record maintenance, accounting concepts, statements and control-account reconciliation.
These courses can support preparation for ACCA’s FA1 and FA2 examinations. Completing free learning alone does not award an ACCA professional qualification or diploma. Diploma pathways require the specified combination of courses and examinations; advanced ACCA-X courses are paid.
Choose a starting point
If debits, credits and trial balances are unfamiliar, begin with the introductory material. If you have studied bookkeeping before, test whether you can explain the underlying entries without relying entirely on memorised examples before moving to the intermediate course.
Make a small practice file as you learn. Use invented transactions for a fictional business, record the entries and check that your balances reconcile. Keep a note of mistakes and corrections so you can explain the reasoning behind your final figures.
Use the learning honestly on your CV
Describe completed study by its actual course title and provider. Do not present course attendance as professional membership, examination success or a licence to practise. A short example of applying the learning can be more informative than an unsupported claim of advanced accounting expertise.
If you later decide to pursue a qualification, check the full registration and examination costs before committing. The availability of free tuition does not mean every stage of the qualification route is free.
How to enrol
