AfDB Internship Programme 2027 Offers Monthly Stipends—Apply by October 12

Applications open: checked 4 October 2026. The African Development Bank is recruiting for its January 2027 internship intake. Session 1 applications close on 12 October 2026.

Benefits and programme format

Selected interns receive a monthly stipend and eligible medical insurance coverage. The notice does not specify a stipend amount. Assignments may be remote or on-site, depending on the receiving unit. Selection does not guarantee subsequent employment.

Who can apply?

  • Nationals of an AfDB member country who are legally adults and no older than 30 when the internship begins.
  • Master’s students, or graduates applying within one year of obtaining their degree.
  • Candidates fluent in English or French, with appropriate computer skills.

Relevant fields include economics, finance, statistics and other development-related disciplines. Member-country eligibility is not limited to African nationality.

Documents and application

Submit a complete online application with your CV and an enrolment letter or degree certificate. Follow the document prompts in the official vacancy. AfDB does not charge recruitment fees.

Read the official Session 1 notice and apply.

How to prepare a stronger application

Before drafting your CV, choose two examples that show what you can contribute. A dissertation, volunteer assignment or class project can demonstrate useful skills when you describe your own role clearly. Explain the question you investigated, the data or tools you used and what your work produced.

For an economics or statistics application, a concise account of a cleaned dataset, a reproducible analysis or a carefully explained finding is more informative than a list of software names. Do not imply that coursework was paid employment, and do not invent numerical results.

Check that your dates agree across your CV and academic documents. Save a copy of the submitted application and its confirmation. These preparation suggestions are editorial advice, not additional selection requirements.

Summary

Intake: January 2027. Deadline: 12 October 2026. Support: monthly stipend; amount unspecified.

Topics: AfDB internship 2027, paid development-finance internships, economics and statistics experience.
