The Interledger Foundation is accepting expressions of interest for its 2027 Digital Financial Services Grant.
Grant support
Selected organisations may receive US$350,000 over 18 months for Interledger technology integration, compliance readiness, pilot deployment and related implementation work. This is organisational project funding, not a consumer loan or personal cash award.
Who should consider applying
The call targets financial institutions and providers ready to deploy interoperable services. Potential applicants include regulated or regulation-ready credit unions, cooperatives, remittance providers, community development financial institutions and digital wallets. Technical, operational and regulatory readiness matters. Geographic and network value also inform selection, including interest in Colombia, the Americas and cross-market connections.
What to prepare
The first-stage EOI asks about your organisation, the payment or financial-service problem, the relevance of interoperable infrastructure, and readiness for integration and a pilot. A complete technical architecture or detailed implementation plan is not expected at this stage. Read the programme resource kit before submitting; it contains further requirements.
Application and deadline
Submit through the official Submittable route by 11 December 2026, 11:59pm ET. The EOI opened on 2 November 2026. A free Submittable account is required, and drafts can be saved. Use an email address you check regularly.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the full-proposal stage? No. The EOI identifies candidates for the invitation-only second stage.
