UKRI’s Data for Metascience Sandpit 2027 is accepting expressions of interest from eligible participants.
Funding opportunity
This expression of interest is for a workshop, not an immediate grant. Resulting 12–18-month projects may compete for a total £2 million pool, funded at 80% full economic cost. Attendance does not guarantee funding.
Eligibility
Project leads must be based at eligible UK research organisations. UK business, government and third-sector participants may join as co-leads or partners under applicable limits. International collaboration is excluded.
Application and attendance
Submit the official EOI by 24 November 2026, 4pm UK time. All five workshop days are mandatory: 1, 2 and 3 March 2027 in person, then 9 and 11 March online. Review the form’s current questions before preparing your responses.
