Additional Ventures is inviting letters of intent for the Single Ventricle Research Fund 2027.
Funding available
Independent Investigator awards provide up to US$600,000 in direct costs over three years. Career Development awards offer up to US$300,000. Up to 10% indirect costs may be added.
Who can apply
Principal investigators must hold a doctoral degree. Independent researchers at different career levels, including instructors and assistant professors, may use the Independent Investigator track; up to five eligible co-investigators can join. The Career Development track serves mentored postdoctoral fellows or equivalents and does not accept collaborative proposals. Do not assume every institution worldwide qualifies: confirm institutional requirements with the funder.
Research scope
The fund supports foundational studies addressing single-ventricle heart disease and its complications. Proposals should connect to the 2026 Research Roadmap. Clinical trials and building registries or biorepositories are excluded. Primarily product-development or prototype projects fall outside this mechanism.
Application and deadlines
Begin with a letter of intent through the official application route. LOIs are due 10 November 2026; the public page does not specify the closing hour. Invited full proposals are due 2 February 2027. Funding is anticipated from 1 July 2027. Check the portal’s current instructions for the required files before submission.
Frequently asked questions
Do both tracks offer US$600,000? No. The career-development ceiling is US$300,000.
Can a postdoc submit a collaborative career-development proposal? No; collaborations are not accepted under that track.
